Do you often get nervous or anxious before dental procedures? You may want to consider asking your Sault Ste. Marie dentist about dental sedation at Bay Dental Group.
What is Dental Sedation?
Some patients experience anxiety or nervousness before dental procedures, and may even be deterred from scheduling routine or necessary dental work.
For these individuals, our dentists can offer dental sedation to help patients feel more comfortable during dental procedures. We can also help you determine whether a dental sedation option is right for you.
At Bay Dental Group, we take every measure we can to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during their dental appointments. Along with offering sedation options, we are committed to working at your pace, providing calm reassurance as required and taking breaks when needed.
Dental Anxiety
If you often feel anxious about visiting the dentist, you are not alone. Even those who see their dentist regularly may still feel anxious about it.
Some patients may experience significant nervousness about dental procedures, need complex treatment or have time constraints. They may have a severe gag reflex. For these individuals, we may recommend oral conscious sedation.
Oral Sedation
Your dentist can prescribe oral sedatives in liquid or pill form. This medication is taken orally in advance of your dental appointment. While it leaves you awake for the procedure, it produces a calming effect to help you relax.
